ISLAMABAD, Jul 12 (APP):Chairman of the Press Council of Pakistan (PCP) Arshad Khan Jadoon said on Friday that the Council is collaborating with all stakeholders to uphold freedom of expression and media ethics.
During a meeting with a delegation comprising the President of the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) Afzal Butt, President of the Islamabad High Court Journalists Association Fayaz Mahmood, former Presidents Asad Malik, Aamir Saeed Abbasi, Saqib Bashir, Senior Vice President Hussain Chaudhry, Finance Secretary Shehzad Ali Raja, Ikhtisham Kiani, Aamir Baloch, Ibrahim Abbasi, Idrees Abbasi, Additional Secretary Adil Saeed Abbasi, and Rizwan Qazi, the Chairman said that the issues of the journalist community would be addressed on a priority basis.
The Chairman also briefed the delegation on the objectives and mission of the Press Council.
Fayaz Mahmood, President of the Islamabad High Court Journalists Association, congratulated the Chairman on his appointment and highlighted the challenges faced by journalists.
Afzal Butt, President of PFUJ, praised the Chairman’s efforts in making the Press Council a dynamic institution and assured him of the journalistic community’s full support.
Arshad Khan Jadoon expressed gratitude to the delegation and assured them of the Press Council’s steadfast support for journalistic organizations.
