ISLAMABAD, Jul 12 (APP): Senate Chairman Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani on Friday, emphasized the urgent need for effective governance to tackle Pakistan’s socio-economic challenges.
He was addressing the 35th Senior Management Course participants at the National Institute of Management (NIM).
Drawing on his experience as both Prime Minister and Senate Chairman, Gilani highlighted the pivotal role of a professional and dynamic bureaucracy in achieving national development goals.
He stressed the importance of integrating global Sustainable Development Goals into Pakistan’s development agenda, asserting that good governance is essential for their realization.
Gilani pointed out recent progress in governance, particularly the increased parliamentary representation for women, which he deemed vital for a prosperous Pakistan.
He encouraged the course participants to utilize their training to foster inclusive development while adapting to changing domestic, regional, and global dynamics.
Recognizing NIM’s commitment to excellence in professional training, the Chairman commended the institute’s role in shaping future leaders.
