ISLAMABAD, Jul 26 (APP): The Standing Committee of the National Assembly for Parliamentary Affairs Friday recommended the initiation of legislation to codify the roles, responsibilities, salaries, perks, and privileges of Parliamentary Secretaries.
The meeting was chaired by Rana Iradat Sharif Khan.
The Secretary of the Ministry for Parliamentary Affairs provided a comprehensive briefing on the Ministry’s operations, highlighting its crucial role in establishing a liaison between Ministries/Divisions and the Parliament, essential for coordination in both official and non-official business.
Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Azam Nazeer Tarar, informed the Committee that the Ministry is in the process of finalizing its “Parliamentary Outreach Policy.”
The meeting was attended by MNAs Shaikh Aftab Ahmed, Raja Qamar-ul-Islam, Naveed Aamir, Nikhat Shakeel Khan, Sahibzada Sibghatullah, Ali Muhammad, Hameed Hussain, and Shahida Begum. Additionally, the Secretary of the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs and other senior officers of the Ministry were present.
