ISLAMABAD, Jul 23 (APP):In response to the torrential rains that hit the city on Tuesday, the Islamabad Administration and Capital Development Authority (CDA) have swung into action to ensure the smooth flow of traffic and prevent water-logging.
Under the direction of Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, joint teams comprising officials from CDA, Municipal Corporation Islamabad (MCI), and the district administration are working together to monitor the situation and take necessary measures.
Deputy Commissioner Islamabad is supervising the drainage process, while Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) and Assistant Commissioners are also part of the operation.
Teams from CDA, MCI, and 1122 are actively participating in the efforts.
According to the CDA spokesman, traffic is flowing normally on all roads in Islamabad, and staff and machinery are present in the field to monitor the drains and ensure the free flow of water.
The Chief Commissioner has instructed officials to strictly monitor all highways, drains, and waterways in Islamabad and ensure the drainage of water at underpasses and other places.
Special attention is being given to low-lying areas, where strict monitoring is being carried out to prevent water accumulation.
Citizens have been advised to contact the CDA helpline number in case of any emergency, and complaints are being addressed in a timely manner.
