CDA, FCDO partner to align solid waste on modern techniques


ISLAMABAD, Jul 29 (APP):Capital Development Authority (CDA) and British High Commission’s Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) on Monday decided to align the solid waste management system with modern requirements, aiming to make Islamabad a modern city.
A delegation from the British High Commission’s FCDO met with Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) Muhammad Ali Randhawa on Monday to explore potential areas of cooperation.
During the meeting, the FCDO delegation was briefed on ongoing and upcoming projects in Islamabad, with a focus on improving the city’s infrastructure and facilities for citizens.
Chairman Randhawa highlighted the need for technical assistance to enhance revenue and resource allocation for development projects.
The meeting also discussed opportunities for collaboration on climate change initiatives, including carbon credit opportunities.
Additionally, the FCDO offered technical assistance in exploring new revenue streams and improving the property and tax system.
Focal persons were appointed for various projects, with a roadmap to be presented to increase cooperation between the two institutions.
